FAVOURITE GAMES

One day I was wondering, which PC games were the best for me, which of them made an unforgettable impression. I couldn’t find a certain answer to this question, but I tried my best to list top 10. Remember, that these aren’t the only ones I liked.

1. Counter-Strike: Source (and other)
For some it’s just a stupid first-person shooter. This game wouldn’t be so entertaining for me, if not the community of servers I’ve played, especially byq.pl. The people created friendly atmosphere using voice and text communication. Maybe I was just lucky?

2. Fallout (series)
The most important was the atmosphere of post-apocalypse - humanity trying to rebuild on monuments of civilization. The game was full of black humor and references to other great movies and games.

3. Mass Effect (series)
Commanding the newest experimental space vessel of Alliance and representing the best of humanity could become a bit addictive. Cinematic cuts for dialogs, emotional scenes and important decisions, which pass to other games from series leading to interesting consequences. The bound between player and non-playable companions was very unusual in this game.

4. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (series)
Radiation, mutations, stalkers and many useful items... Unique atmosphere resembling Slavic countries, based on real locations and objects (too bad it was optimized and scaled down in some way).

5. Rainbow Six (series - without the newest, e.g. "Lockdown" and "Las Vegas")
Quite realistic (and hard) tactical shooter with mission planning and equipping your teams. Without proper strategy and tactics, the mission success is implausible.

6. Half-Life (series)
Nothing is better than a portion of lead in alien’s ass. Also, you may literally not survive encounter with a monster popping up in the darkness.

7. The Fall: Last Days of Gaia
Almost like Fallout 3D. Similar post-apocalyptic atmosphere, but focused on leading 6-men squad, thus it’s more like a tactical roleplay game. The game doesn’t use turn-based system - instead, a player can slow the action almost completely pausing it.

8. Ghost Recon
Interesting tactical shooter. Although an infantry fighting tanks is a bit challenging.

9. The Thing
Extraterrestrials attack (like again). This time they mostly infect humans. Just watch who you take to your squad. Puking is a bad sign, it can change the guy into something nasty.

10. Mafia
Advanced storyline, interesting missions. What should I write more? The game absorbed me, that’s tall.
